THIS IS THE KEMP & TOWNSEND ltd Uniform POLICY DOCUMENT

WHILST WE LIKE TO HAVE A RELAXED, COMFORTABLE ATMOSPHERE AT KEMP & TOWNSEND LTD, OUR UNIFORM POLICY OUTLINES OUR EXPECTATION OF OUR EMPLOYEES WHILST AT WORK. APPEARANCE MATTERS WHEN REPRESENTING THE COMPANY IN FRONT OF CLIENTS, VISITORS & OTHER PARTIES. AN EMPLOYEE’S APPEARANCE CAN CREATE A POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE IMPRESSION THAT REFLECTS ON OUR COMPANY & CULTURE.

THIS POLICY COVERS BOTH OFFICE-BASED & SITE-BASED EMPLOYEES.

THESE DRESS CODE RULES ALWAYS APPLY:

  • ALL EMPLOYEES MUST BE CLEAN & WELL-GROOMED. GROOMING STYLE DICTATED BY RELIGION & ETHNICITY AREN’T RESTRICTED WHEREVER HEALTH & SAFETY IS NOT DETRIMENTALLY AFFECTED.

  • ALL CLOTHES MUST BE APPROPRIATE FOR THE WORK INVOLVED IN YOUR ROLE. CLOTHES THAT ARE TYPICAL IN WORKOUTS & LEISURE ACTIVITIES AREN’T ALLOWED.

  • ALL CLOTHES MUST PROJECT PROFESSIONALISM APPROPRIATE TO YOUR ROLE. CLOTHES THAT ARE TOO REVEALING OR INAPPROPRIATE ARE NOT ALLOWED.

  • ALL CLOTHES MUST BE CLEAN & IN GOOD SHAPE. ALL BRANDED UNIFORM THAT HAS BEEN SUPPLIED BY KEMP & TOWNSEND LTD MUST BE CARED FOR & TREATED WITH RESPECT.

  • BRANDED UNIFORM WILL BE UPDATED & PROVIDED AT PREDETERMINED TIMELY INTERVALS. ANY DAMAGE OR LOSS FROM LACK OF CARE & RESPECT, THAT RESULTS IN MORE UNIFORM BEING REQUIRED BEFORE THESE TIMES, WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM PAY.

  • EMPLOYEES MUST AVOID CLOTHES WITH STAMPS THAT ARE OFFENSIVE OR INAPPROPRIATE.

OFFICE-BASED UNIFORM

OUR COMPANY’S OFFICAL DRESS CODE FOR OFFICE-BASED ROLES IS SMART/CASUAL. WE RECOGNISE THE IMPORTANCE OF COMFORT WHILST WORKING, HOWEVER, OUR VALUES & ETHOS AS A COMPANY MUST BE AT THE FOREFRONT OF ALL EMPLOYEE’S CONSIDERATION.

DURING CLIENT-FACING SITUATIONS, EMPLOYEES MUST RECOGNISE THAT OUR REPUTATION AS A COMPANY IS REFLECTED IN THE APPEARANCE & PRESENTABILITY OF EMPLOYEES.

SITE-BASED UNIFORM

ANYONE WITH A SITE-BASED ROLE, OR OFFICE-BASED EMPLOYEES WHO ARE VISITING SITES, MUST BE WEARING HEALTH & SAFETY/PPE UNIFORM PROVIDED BY KEMP & TOWNSEND LTD.

THIS INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:

  • SAFETY BOOTS WITH STEEL TOE CAPS & MID-SOLE PROTECTION

  • BRANDED HI-VIS CLOTHING

  • HARD HATS WHEN REQUIRED

OTHER PPE MAY BE NECESSARY AT CERTAIN POINTS DURING A BUILDING PROJECT. SUCH AS EAR DEFENDERS, SAFETY GOGGLES/GLASSES ETC. THESE ARE MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS.

DISCIPLINARY CONSEQUENCES

WHEN AN EMPLOYEE DISREGARDS OUR DRESS CODE/UNIFORM POLICY, THEIR MANAGER WILL ADDRESS THIS WITH THEM. THE EMPLOYEE SHOULD START RESPECTING & FOLLOWING THE DRESS CODE IMMEDIATELY.

IN CASES REGARDING HEALTH & SAFETY UNIFORM, IF AN EMPLOYEE IS NOT FOLLOWING THIS, THEY WILL BE SENT HOME IMMEDIATELY TO CHANGE & RETURN TO WORK.

IF AN EMPLOYEE VIOLATES THE UNIFORM CODE REPEATEDLY, ESPECIALLY IN REGARDS TO HEALTH & SAFETY CLOTHING OR THEIR APPEARANCE CAUSES IRREPARABLE DAMAGE, LIKE THE LOSS OF A CLIENT, THEY WILL FACE MORE SEVERE CONSEQUENCES UP TO ANDINCLUDING TERMINATION.
